We are on our way… and we're so happy you're with us!
We hope many of you will be able to join our next human banner for what is likely to be another momentous No Kings day in the history of our country.
As our volunteer-led Human Banner-SF Team is gearing up for the day, we would love to invite you to join the fun. Are you interested in volunteering with us at the event? Learn more below.
Volunteers
We’re going to need a lot help.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 16th, noon — If you are able to join a preliminary work crew at Ocean Beach a day ahead, please email us at info@humanbanner-sf.com. We could use six-to-ten fit, able-bodied types to run tapes for preliminary measurements.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17th — Volunteer Opportunities
7:15 am - Able-bodied folks needed for unloading supplies from our truck to the beach
7:30 am - Set-up. Running tapes across the sand to establish message’s broad outline.
8:00 am - Etching letter outlines into the sand
9:30 am - Crowd Management Team = getting people on the beach in formation
9:30 am - Letter Captains (Many of you are experienced. We’ll need new folks, too)
10:00 am - Medical Team
If you have specific skills that you would like to offer, sometimes we can use those. Please let us know and we will consider them.
If you come to the beach early, we’ll try to put you to work. If we are over-subscribed and cannot (rare, but it does happen), enjoy the beach.

Crowd Size
Lots of online chatter predicting that No Kings Day #4 (October 17th) will be the biggest one yet.
Google estimates that, nationwide, 5 million people turned out for No Kings #1, and 5-7 million turned out for #2 and 8-9 million for #3.
Our crowds for #1, #2, and #3 drew 2,500, 5,000, and 7,000.

Registrations
We currently have 543 registrations for #4. That’s a good solid number for 15 days out, but the uncertainty is always the most nerve-wracking thing part of organizing a banner.
If you can come, please register. If you have friends you’d like to join you, please invite them.
The Message
We continue to refine and narrow it down. It will almost certainly have the word VOTE in it. And there's a good chance it will contain “early,” as well.
We’re designing it to be scaleable from 2,000 on up to...well, just about any number.
The design is looking a lot like our previous “monster crowd” designs. Rectangles are the most efficient way to accommodate larger crowds. People filling in words with their bodies. As many border lines as possible. It’s coming into shape.
Helicopter?
Almost a decade has passed since we have captured an image with one of our banners in the foreground and our beloved Golden Gate Bridge in the background. Drones are not permitted to fly high enough to capture such a shot. We have an aerial photographer lined up, and are currently shopping around for a helicopter. We will keep you posted.
